A couple of years ago I decided to plan an outreach ride on short notice.
I sent out 250 emails. No response. I
waited a couple days and sent them out
again and still heard nothing. I spoke to several people at the dealership and they acted like they got the email, but they where not going to be able to make it. The ride was planned for Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. and it was already Friday afternoon. No one had confirmed to me that they were going.
Saturday afternoon arrived and I still had no responses. I told my wife that I was going to ride to the church just to make sure I didn't leave anyone hanging.
The trip to the church was a pity party; In my head I was thinking, "No one likes me, I have no business doing street ministry etc.. " I arrived at the church to an empty parking lot. I got off my Harley and looked at my phone. It was 6:58 p.m. I looked around and saw a man walking towards me. I began looking at my phone, checking emails etc. . I didn't want to talk to anyone at this point.
The guy began making small talk about my Harley and I was being as nice as I could. It was 7:00 p.m. and whild I thought no one had come to the ride, I was wrong. God was there.
The conversation shifted from Harley's to
a simple question: " Do you know anything about this church?"

I explained yes. It was my home church and I asked him if he had ever attended church.
He began telling me that he was raised in church as a kid, but was not attending as an adult. Then he continued to tell me about the booze and drugs he was involved with, and that he needed a change in his life and wanted God to help him.
10 minutes later after sharing a few simple bible verses, he accepted Jesus into his life.
A few weeks ago I got another reminder about making myself available. I went to my Tuesday morning 6:30 a.m. Bible Study and I was running late. I arrived and this dude pulled up in a car and asked if he could wash my bike for $10.00. I'm thinking 6:30 a.m., he is a crackhead! I said "no, I dont have any cash." He asked if I knew anyone else that he could do some work for and I said ,"no".
Just as I started to walk away he said, "I just want to go home". Now, he had my attention. I asked him what was going on. He said he had just moved here from Louisanna with his wife and had woke up about 20 minutes earlier to find his half brother sleeping with her on the sofa. I asked if he had a relationship with Jesus and he answered all my questions correctly. I told him to pull up to the pump and I used my credit card to fill up his car.
After that, he came inside. We gave him some food and prayed over him. He headed home to Louisanna to be with his family.
I realized, one more second, One more step, and I would have missed God's timing to answer his prayers to get him home.
